EMA to assist in addressing local authorities’ challenges

THE Environmental Management Authority (EMA) and the Urban Councils Association of Zimbabwe (UCAZ) have resolved to complement each other in addressing pollution and solid waste management challenges facing local authorities in the country’s urban centres.
Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting held in Beitbridge on Tuesday, UCAZ president Councillor Femias Chakabuda, said EMA has agreed to assist local authorities to access financial resources under the Environment Fund facility for the upgrading and rehabilitation programmes of sewer treatment plants.
