THE Bulawayo City Council has availed 1 600 more stands to Hlalani Kuhle/Garikai housing project beneficiaries in Cowdray Park who were affected by double allocations.

More than 2 000 beneficiaries of the Government self-help project reportedly lost their housing stands as a result of double allocation.

According to a city council resolution, those that lost stands will be allocated new ones. In an interview on Tuesday, Cowdray Park councillor, Clr Collet Ndhlovu said the stands will be allocated after next Wednesday’s full council meeting.

“We are going to begin allocating the stands after the resolution from the urban lands and town planning committee is endorsed by full council next week,” said Clr Ndhlovu.

He said the process of reversing the double allocations was progressing smoothly.
