Woman in court for killing boyfriend

A 24-year-old Gweru woman who allegedly fatally stabbed her boyfriend with a kitchen knife has appeared in court facing a murder charge.
Febie Chamunorwa of Ascot Infill allegedly fatally stabbed her boyfriend, Edius Ashton Mukucha after he had confronted her for attending an all-night musical show.
All set for Masvingo share ownership scheme launch

PREPARATIONS for the official launch of Community Share Ownership Scheme/ Trust (CSOS/T) in Masvingo are at an advanced stage with about $10 million already available, a Cabinet Minister said yesterday.
Speaking at a meeting called to discuss the programme, the Minister of Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment, Saviour Kasukuwere said all was set for the official of CSOS/T in Bikita.
Asiagate appeals deadline tomorrow

THE Zimbabwe Football Association has set tomorrow as the deadline for Asiagate appeals.
Zifa last week announced that it had put in place a special appeals committee and pegged the fee at $6 000. Many have already indicated that they will appeal to clear their names citing a number of reasons why they did not appear before the Ndumiso Gumede and the Justice Ebrahim committees.
Over 400 families get Presidential inputs

A least 400 families from Insiza in Matabeleland South yesterday received seed maize under the Presidential Well-Wishers Special Agricultural Inputs Support Scheme.

Govt mulls funding Ngos with interest in diamond mining

Mines and Mining Development Minister Obert Mpofu yesterday said Government was seriously considering funding non- governmental organisations with interest in diamond mining at Chiadzwa.
Speaking during a review meeting of the Zimbabwe Diamonds Conference that was held in Victoria Falls early this month, Minister Mpofu extended an olive branch to hostile NGOs that have been peddling falsehoods about the Chiadzwa diamonds.
Parly to intervene in MDC feud only when invited

PARLIAMENT will only intervene in the feud between Professors Arthur Mutambara and Welshman Ncube over the status of MDC Parliamentarians if the factions officially communicate their positions to the legislature.
Speaker of the House of Assembly Mr Lovemore Moyo yesterday said Parliament would not rush to take a position before the interested parties make the request. He said he was yet to receive communication from the two factions.
MSU forced to set exam for one student

Midlands State University could be forced to set examinations for one student after the student successfully challenged the university’s decision to bar him from writing examinations in court.
The student, Believe Tevera, a member of the Student Representative Committee (SRC) was suspended for publishing an article in a daily paper condemning what he called harassment and subsequent arrest of some students by the MSU security personnel and the police during an SRC posts’ campaign at the university.

Chasi reportedly found his wife, Dorcas Chasi (41) six months pregnant when he was released from prison about three weeks ago.
