FIFA president Gianni Infantino has revealed that the 2026 FIFA World Cup final will have a Super Bowl-style halftime musical show.

“I can confirm the first ever half-time show at a FIFA World Cup final in New York New Jersey, in association with Global Citizen. This will be a historic moment for the FIFA World Cup and a show befitting the biggest sporting event in the world,” he shared on Instagram.

The show will be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 19, 2026.

“This will be a historic moment for the FIFA World Cup and a show befitting the biggest sporting event in the world,” Infantino further shared on Instagram, emphasising the scale of entertainment that fans can expect.

The introduction of a halftime show aligns FIFA with the entertainment driven model of American sports, particularly the NFL’s Super Bowl, which has long set the gold standard for halftime performances.
