Gweru business couple received prestigious international business award

RIVER Valley Properties, led by renowned Gweru-based couple, Mncedisi Dube and Smelly Dube, has added another feather to its cap after receiving a prestigious international business award in the United Kingdom last Friday.

The company was named as one of the top 100 Emerging Global Businesses for 2025 at a ceremony held at the UK House of Lords.

There were over 200 leading companies open for collaborations with the River Valley Group to build partnerships, exchange ideas, and explore synergies to drive its business forward.

At the event, global leaders, chief executive officers and business people engaged with some of the most influential decision-makers from around the world brought together by a distinguished audience, offering unparalleled opportunities to expand professional network.

Organisers of the event said the award for River Valley is a prestigious recognition of the next wave of innovative enterprises reshaping the global economy.

“These companies represent the cutting edge of industry transformation, from pioneering technologies to game-changing strategies across diverse sectors.

“Each business on this list has shown outstanding growth, resilience, visionary leadership, and sustainability, setting the bar for excellence in the global marketplace,” said the organisers.
River Valley got an opportunity to gain exclusive visibility for its brand to an elite global audience and in the process gaining recognition on an international stage.

After receiving the award, Dr Smelly Dube said as a group, they were humbled by such an international recognition.

“This recognition is accepted with utmost humility and great appreciation. As a group we are indeed inspired and motivated to do more for our country and humanity,” she said.

“We continue to be inspired by our President Dr. Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision 2030. Zimbabwe is indeed open for business for both foreign and domestic investors,” she said.

The event was attended by high level business leaders and political leaders with Zimbabwe represented by the Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion Professor Mthuli Ncube and Zanu PF spokesperson and International Business Consultant, Ambassador Chris Mutsvangwa.

River Valley Properties is a headquartered in Gweru and involved in private land development, mining under its subsidiary Tebekwe Mine, the retail business and security.

It has over a decade experience in the real estate sector where the firm has developed various housing projects in Gweru, Shurugwi, Zvishavane and Bulawayo.
