A 37-YEAR-Old Pumula North man was left bleeding after three men allegedly sprang from the bushes and robbed him during an early morning walk home.
The robbery happened on 6 August 2026 at around 3am near Pumula Shops.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele said the victim was walking alone along a footpath when the trio suddenly emerged from the bush and started following him.
The situation turned ugly as the man approached an unnamed road near a house in Pumula North.
Catching up with him, struck him once on the head with an unknown object.
“He sustained a cut on the head, bled profusely and fell to the ground,” Insp Msebele said.
With their victim down and bleeding, the suspects rifled through his pockets and helped themselves to his valuables.
The trio got away with R600 and a Samsung A2 Core cellphone before disappearing into the darkness.
The phone, valued at US$120, plus ZAR600 and had not been recovered by the time of reporting.
A police report was made as investigations continue.
Insp Msebele appealed to members of the public who may have information that could help police track down the suspects to come forward.
“We appeal to members of the public with information that may lead to the arrest of the accused persons to come forward and report at any nearest police station,” she said.
