A causeless curse never sticks

WHILE it would have appeared prudent not to dignify the nonsense by responding to the disturbing, misleading and, therefore, regrettable report alleging President Mugabe’s ill health and subsequent death by one disgraceful online publication, ZimEye last week, the mischief cannot go unchallenged!

It has become a disconcerting annual habit and occurrence that Zimbabwe’s leader is malignantly reported dead or having fallen critically ill each time he goes on his routine and deserved yearly leave. This goes to show just how malevolent some elements are towards President Mugabe.

Sadly, this remains the concerted efforts of the President’s cynical detractors out to distract our leader, itself a vain effort of trying to lend currency to a fictitious creation that crudely lacks credence – with that South African radio station picking up the “story” and later retracting it. This is clearly flogging a dead horse and inevitably a futile endeavour.

Bend on pushing their Western masters’ agenda of regime change in Zimbabwe through character assassination of the country’s leader, the generators of these false reports have now resorted to “killing” the President after the other Eurocentric political project dressed in a guise suit as the MDC-T has suffered repeated electoral losses at the hands of President Mugabe and his Zanu-PF juggernaut.

While such spiteful fabrications are a creation of infertile minds, it is important to clear the air and set the record straight – as Presidential spokesman, Mr George Charamba did following the report – and tell the veteran leader’s followers or those who believe in and wish him well the truth.

Lying about the veteran leader’s health does not, in good measure, undersell him, but actually emboldens his resolve to continue with the God-given mandate to lead the country. President Mugabe has responded to and answered the higher calling of serving the country through his servant leadership under which the nation continues to prosper.

While speculating about the President’s perceived ill health may be tolerated, it is certainly out of order of our African cultural milieu to create his death and, therefore, unacceptable. It is only natural that the leader of Zimbabwe sometimes goes under the weather (well, we all do, anyway) owing to his advanced age – itself a cherished blessing from the Creator, who must have plans to continue using him – but it is a fallacy to peddle falsehoods about his death; a conjectural premise based on a faulty assumption that sees the syllogism that the old easily fall sick or die crumbling!

That this is President Mugabe’s umpteenth “death” over the recent past years just shows his own will to “rise from the dead” and God’s special purpose for him not only to Zimbabwe, but Africa and the whole world. As the Zimbabwean leader carries on with life, it remains a nightmare that those malevolently wishing him ill or dead are still trying to awake from.

To that end, prophesying doom for the country’s leader shall not bring him gloom!A liberation war stalwart and economic emancipation hero several other leaders thrive to emulate, President Mugabe has remained committed to championing a good cause for Zimbabwe and Africa in the finest sense of the word.

Long may President Robert Mugabe’s prolonged life continue because a causeless curse never sticks.
