NYANGA-BASED All Arms Battle School walked away with a G-Tel soccer kit after defeating Officers Training Wing in the finals of a four-day fun-filled tournament held in the resort village recently.

The tournament was a preserve for Zimbabwe National Army teams in preparation for the bigger event to be held in November where it will be open to the local community.

Commandant AABS, Stanley Mangena, applauded the success of the games and challenged the team to retain the trophy snatched by Claremont Estate last year.

“In military, sport is regarded as part of physical training hence it is prudent to regard the just-ended competitions as a win-win situation for the intended goal of physical fitness training, especially for those who actively participated.

“The big prize should this time around be won by one of the military institutions unlike last year,” he said.

The business community came in their multitudes to make the competitions a success, with Nyaradzo contributing $300, Doves $300, CBZ $200, G-Tel $300, PSMAS $200, Moonlight $150 and Advocacy $200.

The teams which participated in volleyball, netball, soccer, judo, pool and darts were AABS, OTW, 32 Infantry Brigade and All Arms Training Wing.
