A Bulawayo woman claimed her police officer husband had a sickening habit of spitting at her and also splashing urine on her face.
Chiedza Bongololoa��s predicament came to light at the Bulawayo Civil Court where she sought an interim protection order against Zvadanashe Chivirira.
a�?This man is abusive to the extent that whenever we have a misunderstanding or when beating me, he spits at me and pours his urine on me. The latest incident was on 10 February when I confronted him after he received a call from a friend in which he labelled me a prostitute. He is also threatening to throw me out of the house,a�? she said.
Bongololo alleged that Chiviriraa��s cutting tongue knew no boundaries because at times he also insulted her by her mothera��s privates and referred to his mother-in-law as a prostitute.
Chivirira did not come to court leading presiding magistrate Sheunesu Matova to grant an interim order compelling him not to physically, verbally and harass his wife in any way.
