Young Stars Soccer Academy is set to hold a six-day childrena��s holiday soccer camp at Raylton Sports Club in Bulawayo. A�
This clinic will be a forerunner to the schooling calendara��s second term which is the football season.
a�?There will be a six-day kids holiday camp at Raylton Sport Club. The camp which will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays will be open to every young player who is aged between five and 16 years. The camp is meant to help youngsters sharpen their skills ahead of the schoolsa�� football season which is next term,a�? said Young Stars Soccer Academya��s technical director Collen Nyambiya.
The training camp will be held on selected days a�� 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21 AprilA� 2016.
Basic football skills will be taught.
a�?The main focus will be on basic football skills that include passing, heading, goalkeeping and ball control,a�? saidA� Nyambiya.
Nyambiya, a former Highlanders and Shabanie Mine speedy winger, who once hadA� playing stints in Albania and neigbouring Botswana added that legendary former Warriors midfielder Moses a�?Bamboa�? Chunga was expected to grace one of the campa��s training sessions.
a�?Besides the holiday soccer camp, as an academy we will have our normal training sessions on Saturday. As for the camp, the young boys will start training at 10am and finish at 4pm. Former Warriors midfielder Moses Chunga will grace one of the boysa�� workouts. Each child is expected to pay $5 that is meant to cover ground rentals, refreshments and coachesa�� allowances. However, the boys will be expected to provide their own lunch,a�? he said.
As part of their plans of developing junior football, Nyambiya and his colleagues that includeA� former Highlanders, Railstars and AmaZulu star player Master Masiku, ex-Mighty Warriors captain Nomsa a�?Boysa�? Moyo and Arnold Nhidza have previously embarked on outreach programmes that target young talent, but underprivileged players from the rural areas.
The academya��s main aim is to produce a number of young players who will play in the Premier Soccer League and make it into the senior national team although they would still need a lot of financial support to achieve their goal.
