POLITICAL activist and lawyer Advocate Fadzayi Mahere’s legal troubles have taken a serious turn, with the High Court ordering the seizure of her property to recover over US$33 000 in legal costs.
The writ, signed off by Chief Justice Luke Malaba, directs the Sheriff of Zimbabwe to collect this amount, along with any additional costs from the execution process.
The case, filed under HCH 3394/25, originates from a judgment delivered last week on Tuesday. The following day, the Registrar issued the Writ of Execution, instructing the Sheriff to confiscate movable goods belonging to Adv Mahere at her professional address, Advocates Chambers, 7th Floor, Beverley Court in Harare.
The plaintiff in this matter, Tinoda Machakaire, represented by Prichard Attorneys, is seeking to recover a total of US$33 395 in “taxed costs and charges” awarded by the court.
The Sheriff has been tasked with ensuring this sum, along with any additional expenses, is collected as outlined in the writ.
