A DIVERSE group of individuals and organisations were recognised for their contribution to society at the Africa Hall of Fame Awards held at Rainbow Towers in Harare.
The ceremony, which attracted prominent figures from business, politics, education, entertainment and other sectors, was officiated by former Health and Child Care minister Obadiah Moyo.
Among those in attendance were Cabinet minister Monica Mutsvangwa and her husband, veteran politician Christopher Mutsvangwa.
Organiser Tatenda described the event as a success, saying the strong turnout and diversity of both guests and award recipients reflected the broad vision behind the initiative.
“We were pleased with how the event turned out. Everything went according to plan, and it was particularly encouraging to see people from different backgrounds coming together to celebrate achievement,” she said.
She said the awards were created to shine a spotlight on Africans and organisations whose work has had a tangible impact on individuals, communities and society at large.
The honours cut across several areas, including business, arts and culture, sport, leadership, innovation, humanitarian initiatives and community development.
Among the recipients were Chipupuri Law Practice, Beaut4 Beauty Store, Nyatsime College, headed by principal Shepherd Masaraure, and Oldlock Bedding Masters.
Beaut4 Beauty Store, a Chinese-owned business operating in Zimbabwe, was among the organisations recognised for its contribution.
Tatenda said the awards were not limited by nationality, race or professional background.
“We want to create a platform where excellence is recognised wherever it comes from across Africa,” she said.
The event also served as a networking platform for professionals, entrepreneurs, public figures and community leaders, while celebrating achievements aimed at driving positive change and contributing to Africa’s growth.
