AFTER just two seasons in the Northern Region Soccer League, Agama’s meticulous planning, perseverance and passion have paid off following the dramatic fashion in which they claimed the 2025 championship title.
Winning the championship has guaranteed the Mt Darwin side a ticket to the Premier Soccer League.
Agama thumped FC Oden 4-0 away in Banket on Sunday, the same day that N’ombeyawora, who had led the log standings for much of the season, choked when it mattered most falling 1-0 away to MWOS U-19 at a rain-soaked Ngoni in Norton.
The win saw them being one of the first clubs to hail from Mt Darwin to book a ticket in the top-flight.
Agam’s triumph, which sparked wild celebrations in Pfura in Mt Darwin, means that for the first time, Mashonaland Central Province will have two teams in the top-flight in the same season.
Outgoing champions Simba Bhora are the other side from Mashonaland Central in the Premiership.
Club chairman Emmson Chitsungo said consistency was key to their success, which they dedicated to the community.
“Our strategic blueprint was executed effectively, with a level of consistency that has been foundational to our success. In a competition where three outcomes are possible in any match, we focused our efforts on achieving the one we desired.”
“The community is absolutely elated; they are on cloud nine and are eagerly awaiting the trophy parade this weekend. They see this victory as their own because, in essence, it is.”
Now the focus for Aagama has already shifted to next year as they seek to race with time to match PSL standards.
“Our commitment to competing in the top-flight is unwavering. We are fully invested in this project and have no intention of selling the franchise,” said Chitsungo.
