Reality television show Brother in House Zimbabwe is set for its official launch in Harare today, marking a significant milestone for the locally produced programme as it seeks to expand its footprint within Zimbabwe’s growing entertainment landscape.

Although the show has already been airing on social media platforms for the past two weeks, organisers say the launch will formally introduce the production to the public, sponsors, media stakeholders and industry partners while unveiling plans for the next phase of the competition. It will also introduce the 33 housemates to the public.

Produced by Intelligent Excellence Recognition (IER), Brother in House Zimbabwe is inspired by the popular reality television format popularised by productions such as Big Brother Mzansi. The show brings together contestants from diverse backgrounds who live under one roof while competing in a series of tasks and challenges designed to test their character, creativity, teamwork and resilience.

As the competition unfolds, viewers play an active role through nominations and evictions, ultimately determining which housemate remains standing at the end of the contest.

According to organisers, the official launch will offer audiences an opportunity to connect more closely with the contestants and gain a deeper understanding of the personalities behind the competition.

“This is more than a television programme; it’s a platform that celebrates Zimbabwean talent, resilience and creativity, while giving ordinary people an extraordinary opportunity to share their stories with the nation,” said organisers in a statement.

Organisers believe the launch will help strengthen the relationship between viewers and contestants, providing greater insight into the individuals competing for the top prize of $50 000.

The launch also comes amid significant developments for the production, including the relocation of the contestants to a new and upgraded house designed to meet the growing demands of the show. The move is expected to enhance production quality and improve the viewing experience as the reality series continues to attract attention online.

The official launch is expected to be officiated by Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Tongai Mnangagwa, alongside sponsors and other key stakeholders.
