Gwanda’s Content Creators Connect back on track

Gwanda’s first-ever Content Creators Connect event is back on track after it was postponed earlier this year.
The event will now take place on August 8 at Mount Cazalet Hall. It is an invite-only gathering organised by T Schedule.

The postponement was caused by personal issues affecting the organisers and now the team says everything is set.
T Schedule said the event was created to give Gwanda creators a platform to grow.

“Gwanda lacks content creators. People usually support creators in Mashonaland,” he said. “I came up with this event to give Gwanda’s creators a chance to shine.”

Sekuru Bitterness

He added that the goal is to inspire more young people in Gwanda to start making content.
“I want to motivate my fellow Gwanda citizens to start producing content and to support local creators,” he said. “That is why I invited big names so people can see how serious this is.”

The event will host about 100 guests. T Schedule said the plan was to keep it small and intimate for the first edition. If it goes well, the event will grow and become bigger in the coming years.

He said the vision was for Content Creators Connect to become an annual event and that the hope is that it will help position Gwanda as a hub for digital talent.

He highlighted that several well-known content creators have confirmed attendance, among them Mai TT Diaries, Sekuru Bitterness, Abudhabi, Ashton TXL, Yung Steazy, Bunandi, Lincoln Magabo, Mabrijo from South Africa, Alleta Nonhlanhla, and Nxumz.

Mai TT

T Schedule said having Mai TT on the line-up is very important.
“She has made it in life and has shown resilience in the content creation space,” he said.

“She shows that everything is possible. She speaks reality and does not fake it. I wanted her to set an example for other aspiring creators in Gwanda.”

He added that entertainment on the day will come from Zagoe Radge, Black Operator, Mfanomsotho and Psalmist Dumo Moyo. Gospel artiste Calvin Mangena is also expected to confirm his participation.

The official said the programme will be more than just performances, adding that there will be panel discussions about content creation. Topics, he said, will include how to grow an audience, how to monetise content, and how to stay consistent.

Yung Steazy

There will also be networking sessions to give upcoming creators a chance to meet and learn from established influencers.
He said that for many young people in Gwanda, this is the first time they will see big content creators up close, and that as the organisers, they were hoping that the event would spark new ideas and collaborations.
“Digital work is real work,” T Schedule said.

“We want people in Gwanda to take it seriously and support each other.”
The event comes at a time when more young people are using TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube to share stories, comedy, and music. But many creators outside Harare say they struggle to get support and brand deals.

With Content Creators Connect, Gwanda now joins other towns trying to build their own digital communities.
