All set for Black Label byo provincial pool tournament

A TEAM to represent Bulawayo in the Black Label National Pool Tournament is set to be drawn from a provincial clash at Bluetech in Fourwinds suburb on Saturday.

The sponsors of the national tourney in Masvingo a�� Black Label a�� are yet to announce the date.

Last year Bulawayo Province was represented by Christine Sengwe, Shylate Mudonho, Ronald Mutikani, Terrence Mindu, Wellington Manore and Stanley Mako but they came back empty handed.

Farai Nyandoro, secretary of the Bulawayo Pool Association (BPA), said ita��s all system go.

a�?Preparations for the provincial tournament have been made. We will come up with a team to represent Bulawayo in the national finals,a�? said Nyandoro.

Unlike last year Nyandoro said he was optimistic the tournament is going to get very competitive.

a�?The players are improving their skills and the games are getting better annually. As a result this year we expect the competition to be tense and challenging at both provincial and national level,a�? he said.

Nyandoro further said BPA were in talks with the sponsor of the tournament Delta Beverages, to review entry fees for the tournament.

a�?We are trying to engage our sponsors to review the entry fee. For one to enter they have to buy five products of Black label, but due to economic hardships we are asking for the entry fee to be at leastA� three black label products, so that we can open doors for many talented players,a�? he said.

Nyandoro added that the competition was also open to ladies and last year Bulawayo province was represented by five females.

This yeara��s national event is expected to attract 2 000 players from last yeara��s 1 300 in both the women and mena��s categories.
