Dube convincingly won the Highlanders Football Club’s chairman position in the January elections, shrugging off the challenge of then incumbent Themba Ndlela and Mandla Moyo.
Besides the chairman’s report, the treasurer Odiel Nkomo will also make his financial presentation and the members will get to know the financial status of the club.
“Everything with regards to our meeting is in place. This meeting is in line with the constitution and it will be more of reviewing the first half of the season and also mapping the way forward for the club.
“The way forward will be to prepare and strengthen the club for its future challenges on and off the field,” said Dube.
Highlanders members are likely to deliberate more on the finances of the club and probably get a briefing on how much the club owes.
Highlanders are in the red with Dube having inherited debts of over $400 000 from Ndlela who in turn had taken over from Ernest Sibanda when the club owed individuals and organisations $40 000.
Bosso have been heavily relying on their principal sponsor BancABC who have been paying the players, technical team and office staff salaries. The chairman will also brief the members on whether they are going to beef up the squad or not.
“So much has been happening on the transfer market and with the commitment that we have in terms of bringing positive results we will let the members know the strides we are taking to realise our goals,” Dube said.
He said the club was grateful for the support that they have been getting from stakeholders who include sponsors, members, supporters and friends of the Highlanders institution.
Dube challenged the Highlanders family to work together for the benefit of the club.
“There is light at the end of the tunnel and for us to realise our goals we need to work together and pull in one direction. It’s still a long way to go but if we stand by each other we will achieve our desired goals.
“There is a lot that has been happening and I call on the members to come in their numbers so that we share the challenges and the good things that we have faced in the past six months,” Dube said.
