ZIFA Southern Region Division One club Amagagasi coach Zibonele Ncube has urged his on-fire strikers to put positive team performance ahead of potential individual awards going into Week Four fixtures of the Division One league.
Striking partners Nhlanhla Ndlovu and Lungile Nyathi are sitting on two goals each ahead of the match against Bulawayo side Talen Vision on Saturday in Victoria Falls.
One of the strikers could end up topping the goal scoring charts for the month of April, an effort that comes with a $150 cheque courtesy of Nokel Security, provided they score on Saturday.
Ray Lunga of Bosso 90 is the only threat to the Amagagasi duoas quest to end the month with the top goal scorer award going to the resort town of Victoria falls.
a?I know the two strikers might be tempted to play for personal glory. I sat with them and explained that the team comes first ahead of individual awards. If one of them ends up as the top goal scorer that will be a bonus for the player but the performance of the team is important on Saturday,a? explained Ncube.
Amagagasi are second on the log with nine points behind leaders Bulawayo Chiefs who top the league table on goal difference.
Ncube is a former coach for ousted Division One club Trumus who were booted out of the Southern Region league together with Quelaton for failing to pay affiliation fees ahead of the 2016 season.
In other matches former Premier Soccer League team Bantu Rovers play Black Boots in a Bulawayo derby at Luveve Stadium on Saturday while Bulawayo Chiefs travel to ZPC Hwange.
