LONDON. — English soccer legend Gary Lineker has criticised supporters who booed Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
A video appears to show Wenger (65) being jeered by fans when boarding a train following his side’s 3-2 Premier League defeat at Stoke on Saturday.
“Just saw the Wenger abuse video,” tweeted former England striker and BBC Sport presenter Lineker.
“Disgustingly disrespectful and totally inexcusable, regardless of any football results.”

As Wenger emerged onto the platform, the waiting supporters launched into an expletive-ridden assault on the Gunners’ manager, who calmly made his way onto the train via a police escort.
The incident came on the back of another dismal Gunners showing at the Britannia, which saw the hosts race into an early three-goal lead before a fightback of sorts.
Despite guiding the club to the FA Cup last year, Wenger has come in for regular criticism over what is perceived as an on-field stagnation.
Arsenal are already 13 points adrift of league leaders Chelsea and just last month, fans unveiled a banner calling for the Frenchman to leave after the win at West Brom. — BBC Sport.
