SOCIAL media went into meltdown at the weekend amid a flurry of activity with all the focus seemingly on businessman Wicknell Chivayo after his name was dragged into a saga in which he was accused of a series of relationships, including with the wives of two prominent prophets.
Chivayo has dismissed the chats, which flooded social media, as FAKE and a creation of some shadowy characters, who were intent on damaging his profile.
What he won’t deny is that this was BRUTAL and, even if it was fake, it battered the images of many people whose names were dragged through the mud by the contents of the chats.
His apology, especially to Prophet Edd Branson, whose wife Maxine Adam was dragged into the controversy, shows that Chivayo acknowledges the controversy generated by those chats had a profound impact in damaging the profiles of the people whose names were dragged into this mess.
The chats appeared to portray him as a womaniser who was allegedly having a fling of adulterous relationships, including one with the wife of Prophet Evidence Chari.
The names of musicians Shashl and Kikky Bad**s and Tariro Gezi were also sucked into the mess.
The chats also appeared to suggest that Chivayo even bought a car for Maxine Adam, the wife of Prophet Edd Branson.
She has rejected the claims and responded with this statement:
“I don’t normally respond to things that people say about me because I honestly don’t see the need to when the people that MATTER know the truth but it is very sad that we live in a world where people would actually be so heartless to the extent of editing normal conversations and directing them to come out as something they are not just to suit a narrative that they want to push hence making the whole story FAKE just to push their agenda whether it is for likes, views or revenge only God knows.
“A lie indeed goes around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes.”
Prophet Chari said he was standing by his wife Anesu.
“When you get wounded on duty it takes the wise to understand. Five years ago, I preached about the wounded prophet who got wounded on duty, your goal was ONLY to help but sometimes we land our helping hands-on thorns and be the one to bleed
“Keeping quiet when you need my confirmation of love would make me a coward which I’m not, you know I’m a fighter.
“I’ve fought hard for myself and I can’t be selfish not to fight for you, babe
“Stand strong Queen, I LOVE YOU. Heaven will reward you and Jesus will be praised.”
Chivayo dismissed the chats as FAKE.
“I disassociate myself from these FAKE screenshots and DISMISS them in their entirety as nothing more than MALICIOUS fabrications being sponsored by CRIMINALS who realised that their attempt to extort me was DISMALLY unsuccessful.
“I must say that all the alleged screenshots were generated through FAKE social media accounts purporting to be my official account.
“These pseudo pages include but are not limited to ‘sirwicknellfanpage,’ ‘chivayowicknell’ and ‘wicknell_chivayo’ whose handlers impersonate me by reproducing and posting pictures from my official account with the intention to deceive the unsuspecting public.
“I have DECISIVELY taken steps to engage the appropriate authorities and agents abroad, to assist in a forensic investigation on the MALCONTENTS and cyber-criminals behind these accounts and bring them to book.
“I extend my DEEPEST APOLOGIES to all those individuals, known and unknown to me, who have been adversely affected by these FAKE messages and regret the damage that this may have caused them, their partners or families.
“I particularly share my SINCERE remorse to PROPHET DR EDD BRANSON, his family, and Church for the anxiety which these PROVO.”
