AVYLET Logistics has distanced itself from alleged fraudulent activities involving Mr Tichaona Martin Madzikanda, the ex-husband of the company’s director, Ms Violet Avoid.
The company accuses Mr Madzikanda of falsely using the firm’s name to solicit money from the public.
In a statement, the company said Mr Madzikanda, who is reportedly based in Manitoba, Canada, has been presenting himself as an Avylet Logistics representative and allegedly collecting money from clients under the pretext of facilitating international purchases.
Avylet Logistics manager Mr Jared Chikaka said Mr Madzikanda had never been employed by or affiliated with the company and had no authority to conduct business or collect money on its behalf.
“Right now, his reported location is Manitoba, Canada.
“Mr Madzikanda has never been employed by or affiliated with Avylet Logistics, and any transactions conducted with him are strictly personal and not the responsibility of the firm,” said Mr Chikaka.
He said the company had issued the statement to protect its reputation and warn members of the public against dealing with Mr Madzikanda in the name of Avylet Logistics.
“Mr Madzikanda is not authorised to collect funds or transact on behalf of Avylet Logistics. He has never been part of our company,” he said.
Mr Chikaka said the company was also working with authorities and engaging people who may have been affected by the alleged activities.
“We are cooperating with authorities and engaging affected individuals to assist where possible.
“The trust of our clients remains our top priority,” he said.
Avylet Logistics facilitates sourcing and procurement between China and businesspeople importing goods and stocks for resale in their respective countries.
