Babongile Sikhonjwa ready to take on Bosso leadership

Mbulelo Mpofu, Showbiz Reporter
BABONGILE Sikhonjwa is known as Bulawayo’s Ndebele Rockstar and for a good reason.

The city’s celebrity has acquired such a status through his jack of all trades personality with city guiding, radio presenting, music producing, painting and comedy forming part of his portfolio.

As if that is not enough, Babongile wants to add sports management to the portfolio.

Remember this is the guy who made the “Aw’soMayor” chant popular and now, he has set his sights on the vice-chairmanship of one of the country’s oldest football clubs, Highlanders.

Recently, he flighted an advertisement on social media to gather support for the post where Bosso paid-up members can vote for their next chairman.

When Chronicle Showbiz caught up with the notorious figure to pick his brain on how he is going to juggle all the balls at his disposal suppose he wins, this is what he said: “I understand that the vice-chairman is in charge of entities.

So, the plan is to make Bosso entities the best in the country.

This kind of business is easy to run as long as you set up systems. It’s that easy, trust me.”

Babongile runs popular nightspot Red Cafe and also breeds cattle in Filabusi.

This is not the first time that he has tried leadership as he has in the past, made it clear that he wants “to be the mayor of the city or an MP come 2023 elections.” – @eMKlass_49
