Bail for ex-Shamva officer-in-charge

the robbery of his wife killed a mine work Mr Luxmore Chivambo in the process.
Shumba’s wife Judith had reportedly been robbed of US$100 and a cellphone and the police details raided Ashley Compound where they assaulted Mr Chivambo to death.
High Court judge Justice Felistus Chatukuta ordered Shumba’s release after a successful bail application by his lawyers Manyurureni and Company.
Law Officer Mr Douglas Chesa from the Attorney General’s Office appeared for the State. Shumba(48), in his bail application, denied killing Chivambo saying he was killed during the raids that had been sanctioned by the police district command on all compounds where illicit activities are normally committed.
Ashley Compound, according to Shumba, was known for brewing and dabbling in kachasu, prostitution, gold dealings and other nefarious activities.
It was indicated in the papers that the robbery of his wife’s money was coincidentally reported on the day when the police were supposed to raid such compounds in the policing area.
