Bayern unbeaten run broken

Bayern Munich sustained their first Bundesliga defeat since October 2012 as they succumbed to a 1-0 loss at Augsburg. The result, which came courtesy of Sascha Moelders’ goal on 31 minutes – marks a third successive game without victory for Pep Guardiola’s side, who were held 3-3 by Hoffenheim last weekend and then drew 1-1 at Manchester United in the Champions League.

Guardiola fielded an experimental side, in view of the second leg of the clash with United on Wednesday, and they produced a sub-standard performance, with Augsburg boosting their chances of qualifying for Europe next season — Soccernet
