Believe without seeing

IN John 20:24-29, we learn that one of the 12 disciples, Thomas (also called the Twin), was not with the others when Jesus came.

They told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he replied, “I will not believe it unless I see the nail wounds in His hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound on His side.”

Eight days later, the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them.

The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. “Peace be with you,” He said.

Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound on my side. Do not be faithless any longer. Believe!”

“My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed.

Then Jesus said to him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”

Jesus said to Thomas, “Do not be faithless any longer. Believe!”

Believe with your heart or spirit what you do not see with your physical eyes or touch with your hands.

Thomas’ problem was that he wanted to see and feel before believing. Do not be like him.

Believe the word of God and you will see the glory of God.

As you celebrate the risen Lord Jesus Christ, He declares you blessed. You are blessed, because Christ is your Lord and God! You are blessed through the risen Jesus, whom you believe, though you have not seen!

Your faith in the unseen will give way to sight.
