NTSIKA Ngxanga, a member of award winning group The Soil, composed a song dedicated to Zimbabwean songbird Berita Khumalo after claiming that the songbird visited him in a dream. The song, Yana Imvula, is set to feature on the upcoming album by new South African Afro Soul sensation Vusi Nova.
In an interview with South Africa Breaking News, the musician claimed that an infant version of the Zimbabwean beauty had visited him in a dream, prompting him to compose the ballad in her honour.
a?Berita is originally from Zimbabwe and came to Mzansi to pursue her music dream. In the dream I saw Berita as an infant and when she was conceived it started raining,a? said Ntsika.
The song, in which Ntsika appears without the other members of the famed acapella group The Soil, is expecting to give further credence to the rumours that Ntsika harbours solo ambitions.
The groupas dynamism has allegedly been affected after the only female member of the triumvirate Buhle Mda left to become a sangoma.
Berita, meanwhile, has also been trying to blaze a new path for herself, releasing a single titled Nguwe Wedwa as she prepares for the release ofA her new album. She has also been romantically linked with singer Tresor Riziki, while her ties to Ngxanga himself are not clear.
Vusi Nova, in whose album the song will be featured, also said he had to answer to his own spiritual calling.
a?Itas weird how I resonate with the song and how I got to be the one chosen to sing it. What makes it more weird is
Iave been told I must undergo ukuthwasa,a? he said.
