Big game sound bites

Zimbabwe
“Preparations have been good, and we are ready as we will ever be,” said Zimbabwe coach Dave Whatmore. “We created some practice matches, which take the place of the competition which Pakistan had. They put on a local Twenty20 tournament, which they used to select their team and fine tune their preparations.

‘’It’s difficult to definitively quantify improvement, but the main focus of this tour and others to follow will be to improve, improve and improve. Whether we win one game in a series or two, we want to show gradual progress and keep knocking on that door until we can get a string of victories together.”

“Regardless of the many changes, we are taking this series very seriously. Zimbabwe are always a tricky and dangerous team, when playing at home. They showed us that much during the New Zealand and India tours. They even stretched us when we played them at home. We will definitely not take them lightly We are here to win and play the best cricket we can,” said Waqar Younis, Pakistan coach.
