BIG PERNELL MAKING HIS MARK

ONE of the reasons the Warriors have been successful in their 2025 AFCON campaign has been their defence.

Goalkeeper Washington Arubi has been standing tall at the back.
And, one man has been quietly doing his business without any funfare.

He is Pernell McKop, a former Zimbabwe international, who is now the Warriors goalkeepers coach.

McKop plays the same role for Super Diski side Stellenbosch.

If he gets it right again and his goalkeeper doesn’t concede tomorrow, the Warriors will be on their way to the AFCON finals in Morocco.

Arubi has conceded only once in four AFCON qualifiers.
