SCOTTLAND FC’s participation in the 2026 Toyota Cup has set the stage for an emotional reunion as veteran Zimbabwean stars Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona prepare to face their former club, Kaizer Chiefs, on July 26 at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

Scottland’s place in the prestigious pre-season tournament was confirmed during the Toyota Cup draw conducted on South African broadcaster SABC 1, handing the Zimbabwean Premiership side a glamour fixture against one of Africa’s most supported clubs.

The match is expected to generate huge interest on both sides of the Limpopo, largely because of the presence of Billiat and Musona, two players who enjoyed memorable spells at Kaizer Chiefs before returning to Zimbabwe to join the ambitious Mabvuku-based outfit.

Billiat remains a fan favourite among Amakhosi supporters after making over 100 appearances for the club and helping them challenge for domestic honours during his stay in Naturena. Musona, affectionately known as “The Smiling Assassin,” also left an indelible mark at Chiefs, where he established himself as one of Zimbabwe’s finest exports to South African football.

Their return to face the Glamour Boys is likely to evoke fond memories among Chiefs supporters while offering Scottland an opportunity to measure themselves against top opposition ahead of the second half of the domestic season.

For Scottland, the Toyota Cup invitation is another indication of the club’s growing profile.

Since their arrival in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, the club has attracted some of the biggest names in Zimbabwean football and continues to make headlines both on and off the field.

The encounter is expected to draw a large crowd at Royal Bafokeng Stadium, with many eager to witness whether Billiat and Musona can haunt their former employers in what promises to be one of the most intriguing fixtures of the Toyota Cup.

For Zimbabwean football followers, the match will provide a rare opportunity to see two national icons renew acquaintances with the club where they built significant chapters of their illustrious careers. —@FungaiMuderere
