PATRICIA Mafuleni, who survived the horrific road traffic accident that claimed her husband, Bishop Zondiwa Mafuleni, in July, has died.
She died on Monday from injuries sustained in the same accident, which also claimed the lives of her mother-in-law, three relatives and the driver.
They were on their way from a funeral in Honde Valley when tragedy struck along Mutare Road.
At the time of her death, Patricia was said to have been still unaware of her husband’s death, according to a church member.
“We are saddened by the passing away of our mother. She was recovering well from the injuries sustained in the road traffic accident that claimed our father and church leader.
“She died without knowing that her husband passed away at the accident scene.
“Vaingoudzwa kuti varikuchipatara vakakuvara zvakaipisisa.
“Ndinofunga kuti pane akazovaudza vakakanganisika.
“It was better to tell her when she had fully recovered and discharged from hospital,” said the church member.
Family spokesperson, Ameka Pumulo, told H-Metro that funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
“Funeral arrangements shall be announced after the arrival of Patricia’s father, who is in the village,” she said.
