ZIMBABWEaS cultural ambassadors, Black Umfolosi, have begun their umpteenth tour of Canada, where they are set to give performances at some of the biggest festivals in that country over the next few weeks. The group began their tour by playing at Alberta and BC in Western Canada on 22 July before making a bow in Oyama at Kaloya Park for Live show in Lake Country.
Next the Zimbabwean imbube group is set to grace the Edmonton Folk Festival at Gallagher Park in Canada.
Umfolosi will then play at the Bear Creek Folk Music Festival in Muskoseepi Park in the Grand Prairie on 12 August.
The group has made Canada its second home, playing to widespread acclaim in festivals around that country over the past few years. In 2014, after a five years hiatus from the North American country, the group undertook a 29-stop tour that endeared them with festival goers in that country.
Already, the groupas performance at Oyama earned them respect from audience members.
a?At the beginning of their performance there was a strong wind, and it was heard on their wireless mics, it was the spirits from Zimbabwe announcing a good omen,a? wrote Going Liveas Miriam Cunha enthusiastically after she shared the groupas video of its performance on her Facebook page.
