A new local film titled “Blood Stains” is set to hit the big screen in August. The 90-minute film was directed by Aaron Goora, who said they are putting final touches to the production. “We finished shooting and as we speak we are at the editing stage and viewers should look forward to this movie that will be out sometime in August,” he said.
The film is centred on a lonely man’s fight against crushing odds as he tries to make his mark in the cut-throat world of business.
“It is about several people fighting for a business tender. A successful businessman who has the potential to win the tender is trapped by his counterparts.
“The businessman has a soft spot for ladies and his rivals take advantage of his weakness to bring him down as they kill one of his girlfriends and place her body in his car,” said Goora.
Apart from the business tender the movie interrogates the effects of promiscuity in marriages and how important it is to have discipline in life if one wants to be successful
There are renowned characters in the production including the likes of the award winning filmmaker Projeny Shumba, Benjamin Mapfeka from “Tiriparwendo”, Precious Musarurwa from the “Small House Saga” and the footballer Evans Gwekwerere.
They also tried to incorporate different nationalities and languages to cater for various viewers.
“In cast we have some ‘coloured’ people, a Ghanaian and a Nigerian. We were also using several languages that include Shona, English and Ndebele,” he said.
Goora also said he has started working on another movie and has plans of coming up with a soap.
“I have another film called ‘Cross-border Woman” which is still in pre-production. It is about a lady who has a love affair with another man based in South Africa.
“Plans are also underway to come up with a soap that will be called ‘Cross Over’,” he said.
Goora was known as one of the script writers of television soap Studio 263.
