GUTU villagers have expressed their anger and concern over the tragic circumstances surrounding the death of an elderly woman who had been living alone for years.
The body of Gogo Violet Mhara, a mother of nine, was on Tuesday found in a decomposing state.
She was 84.
Her children and grandchildren had neglected her for undisclosed reasons.
One of her children, Nicholas Mhara, told H-Metro that the police collected her body yesterday.
“She had been staying alone for some time and no one recently visited her.
“The body was in a decomposing state.”
Villagers had no kind words with Gogo Violet’s children and grandchildren.
“This is inhuman,” said one of the villagers.
“We might have some differences, both social or religious, but this situation is unacceptable in society.
“The Bible teaches us not to neglect our parents.”
