Bombing incident: Security guard dies

The security guard who sustained severe burns when the Zimbabwe Institute of Legal Studies offices owned by Zanu PF Harare provincial chairperson Cde Godwills Masimirembwa were petrol-bombed, has died.

This comes at a time when the police are still compiling the forensic and laboratory reports as investigations continue.

The petrol bomb destroyed property while the security guard sustained severe burns as a result of the attack.

He was admitted at a local hospital where he died morning. The deceased has since been identified as Tyson Mashoko (31).

The petrol bomb was allegedly thrown by an eight-man gang travelling in a three-vehicle convoy.

Police said the motive for the attack remains unknown and investigations into the case have been launched.

A team of police experts was deployed to investigate the matter.
