Booze theft earns pair 7 years

A 50-YEAR-OLD man and a 26-year-old woman that broke a bar window and stole cash and beer in Trenance in Bulawayo have been jailed for seven months.

Andrew Morgan (50) and Natasha Ward (26) appeared before provincial magistrate Franklin Mkhwananzi charged with theft and unlawful entry. Mufaro Mageza, prosecuting, told the court that the duo broke into the bar through a window at about 6.30am and took property worth $219 and R300, including beer.

The bar owner, Henrietta Nkomazana, reported the case to the police leading to the pair’s arrest.
