BOSSO 90 coach, Melusi Mabaleka Sibanda says victory over Zimbabwe Saints at Mzilikazi (Brad) Barracks this Saturday will boost their relegation survival chances in the Zifa Southern Region Division One league.
The Highlanders development team has not had the best of campaigns this year and find themselves in a fight to survive relegation.
Bosso 90 is on position 13 on the 16-team log table, which is the last relegation slot.
They have collected 22 points from 21 matches, winning five games, drawing seven and losing nine in the process.
They face Zimbabwe Saints on Saturday and Sibanda says the game is a must-win for his charges who don’t want to face the chop at the end of the season.
“It’s a tough match against Saints but victory against them will help us in our fight against relegation. We are confident we will survive, given the way the team has been playing of late.
“We had a poor start to the season because the youngsters were still trying to adapt to our system and philosophy.
“At this stage, the boys have now begun to understand how we want them to play and things are really shaping up. “Saints are a good side, but l trust the boys have what it takes to get one over them,” said Sibanda.
Chauya Chikwata who bounced back into the league this season have had a good season and are fifth on the table with 33 points from 21 games. Things seem to be stable at the club that was kicked out of the league last year after failing to fulfil some of their matches.
They have had none of those issues this season and are one of the top teams in the league.
In other matches set for this Saturday, table toppers ZPC Hwange welcome Victoria Falls City to Chakona Stadium hoping to maintain their unbeaten streak this season.
Top goalscorer and paymaster,Justin Kaunda is expected to add to his 13 goals in this Matabeleland North derby.
ZPC Hwange are unbeaten after 21 matches with 55 points from 21 games. They lead second-placed Casmyn by a massive 13 points.
Casmyn are in Bulawayo in what promises to be an exciting game against Nkayi United at White City Stadium.
Eyes will be on the scoring duo of Tatenda Ushe who has scored 13 for Casmyn and Tinotenda Chitete who has found the back of the net 12 times so far.
The same stadium will be the venue for the clash between Adachi and Indlovu Iyanyathela. Mkhokheli Dube’s Zebra Revolution will battle against Mainline at the White City Stadium B-Arena.
