AWARD winning poet and author Mthulisi Ndlovu has released a book which speaks of the importance of Ubuntu in communities.
Ndlovu, who is also known as “Khulu Gatsheni” has over the years released a number of books and won a number of awards.
His latest release is titled Ubuntu: The Raw Truth Unravelled 2.0 is a revised version of his award-winning book which won him the Honorary Global African Literary Award in 2021.
He said the key message in the book is the importance of Ubuntu in the development of communities.

“The book is generally a poetic assertion of Ubuntu as a practical philosophy of community development. As I also subscribe to the fact that if communities are to embrace and hail the Ubuntu philosophy as a foundational essence of their existence, there is definitely a chance to build harmonious and interconnected humanity,” he said.
He further said the book was also meant to teach people about the importance of self-reflection.
“This book serves as a powerful and candid reminder to humanity, urging us to recognise that it’s never too late to reconsider our actions, acknowledge our mistakes, and choose a path that leads to a brighter, safer world. A world that values and nurtures the collective spirit of ‘WE’ over the individualistic notion of ‘I’,” said Ndlovu.
He said he was inspired to write the book after seeing how people have forgotten the importance of the community and families in their lives.
“The new edition is my response to the world’s current state, urging humanity to reconnect with what truly matters, which is community and shared progress,” he said.
Ndlovu revealed that he has a number of projects lined up that fans can expect soon spanning fiction, non-fiction, and academic literature, with plans to publish them in multiple languages, including English, Polish, German Deutsch, IsiNdebele, ChiShona, and Swahili.
