Bosso board and executive in crucial meeting

THE Highlanders Board and Executive will meet on Tuesday evening to discuss recent problems at the club that has seen Kelvin Kaindu relieved of his position, leaks of club internal communication and resignation of acting chief executive Kindman Ndlovu.

However club members and supporters woke up to the news that Ndlovu had decided against his earlier decision in which he gave a glance of frosty relations within the club.
Kaindu fired last week and Try Ncube thrust into the hot seat in a move taken by the executive.

The sacking came at a time when there were hopes that Wicknell Chivayo’s donation would cover the purchase of players a luxury Kaindu has not enjoyed in two seasons. He had to do with free agents or cheap bargain from relegated teams, players who arrived low on confidence from previous seasons and have not added weight to the team’s on-the-field plight.

Here was an opportunity for Kaindu to get into the market and bolster his team and have no excuse for poor results.
The board is said to have just like supporters been shocked with the decision which came after two decent showings, a win 1-0 against Manica Diamonds in Mutare and a 0-0 derby draw against Chicken Inn in the last two weeks.

Another worry at the club are leaks of confidential information.
The club is perturbed with how information finds itself on the public domain.

“Just now we are worried as to how a letter like our acting chief executive officer’s decision to rescind his has found itself in the public domain. It was given to club chairman Mhlophe who passed it on to the board chairman, Luke

Mnkandla, booom, it’s all over Facebook and X. Leadership is lacking at the club yet they must be sworn to secrecy, the centre is no longer holding, Mhlophe and Mnkandla must steer the ship to the coast,” said a source close to the happenings at the club.

The meeting is also expected to see both bodies come up with a common position as to the priorities over money donated by Chivayo.

Another issue that could come on the agenda is the forthcoming disciplinary hearing for finance officer, Sihlalisiwe Mnkandla.

She was suspended in 2023 and a court ruled that she be reinstated and returned in dramatic fashion at the beginning of the year, just a day after the new treasurer Nkani Khoza won the election to the post.

Highlanders are ninth on the log and in desperate need of bolstering with quality players to match the rest of the clubs.
