Mr Join Kohomela Mbedzi of Ward 9 was on Monday formally installed as Headman Kohomela by Chief Tshiṱaudze during a colourful ceremony held at Sita 2.
The event was attended by various stakeholders among them Chief Matibe and other traditional leaders.
His grandmother Mrs Juliet Mbedzi, has been acting headman since 2022.
Presiding over the ceremony Chief Tshiṱaudze explained the duties of the headman and encouraged the new headman to be a champion of community development.
He also advised him to lead at the front in fighting social ills among them child marriages, abuse of drugs and fighting common crime.
Headman Hohomela (58), is suceeding his father who died in 2018.
There are 10 herdmanships in Beitbridge district.
