Drew, who charged 25 cents a cup, said he wanted to make his dad feel better after being told he had Seminoma cancer.
“He is so important to me,” he said.
“Lots of times we like to play games.”
Drew’s plea, brought visitors from miles around to support his efforts to fund his dad’s medical bills
According to an article on KLTV, his efforts have had a profound impact on the community, as well.
Robin McDaniel, who came to support Drew’s cause, said: “From a small child, you know that love can come from a small child and just blossom into something so amazing.”
The young entrepreneur has followed in the footsteps of Alex Scott, who raised money for medical research when she was just four-years-old, it was reported in a Huffington Post article.
Alex, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma before her first birthday, gave the proceeds to doctors in the hope of finding a cure.
She sadly passed away in 2004, but her parents have carried on her good work, raising more than $50million for the cause.
