A 13-year-old boy from Lower Gweru who disappeared in 2013 only to be found in a granary by a witch-hunter in Hwange a year later has disappeared once again, leaving his family in a state of shock.
Douglas Ndlovu disappeared last month having left home herding cattle at a nearby grazing area.
His uncle, Patson Dick said the family was overjoyed when they found him after hope had been lost. But his latest disappearance has hit the family hard.
a?We have gone to a number of prophets and traditional healers but they have all failed to locate him,a? he said, adding that one prophet said perhaps he had rejoined the Hwange cult.
On his return he had told the family that he survived on porridge mixed with blood at times ate human flesh.
That alone worries the family.
a?We have tried all avenues I tell you and they donat come cheap, we have even lost cattle,a? he added.
The Dick family has since abandoned their homestead because they feel itas haunted.
Patson now has a homestead hundreds of metres from the original homestead but in the same Ndudzo village under Chief Mkoba.
The village head Pheneaus Mawundo appealed toA the police and members of the public to assist in locating Douglas.
a?We are appealing to the police to assist us in finding the boy. They may contact any nearest police station or contact his uncle on 0774000843,a? he said.
