A year into her marriage with fellow Zimbabwean expatriate Carl Hlazo, there seems to be no regrets for celebrity Zimbabwean blogger and BET entertainment correspondent Makho Ndlovu who last week celebrated the firstA� anniversary of her union with her bae.
A year into their union, the red carpet host professed her undying love for her partner, making it clear that she hoped that their marriage will stand the test of time.
Makho, as Ndlovu is affectionately known, was in 2011 handpicked by music mogul Russell Simmons out of thousands of contestants as the Global Grind celebrity video correspondent winner.
Makho and Carl, a 41-year-old software engineer, got hitched on 5 July last year at a lavish ceremony held at Laurel Hall, Indianapolis in the state of Indiana in the US.
The 34-year-old Makho said that a year since their celebrated union, she was convinced that she had married the love of her life.
a�?A year ago, I married the love of my life. He still keeps me smiling like this pic every single dang gone day, we are so blessed to have each other. My lover for life!a�? she captioned her picture of the two of them all in smiles on her wedding day last year.
Talking about her marriage to Hlazo, Makho said that she had not expected to fall in love with a Zimbabwean when she had spent a greater part of her life in the US. She also narrated how the two of them met through mutual acquaintances.
According to her account, Carl was only visiting Indianapolis for a weekend long soccer tournament and then he was headed back to his hometown of Dallas. She was just being friendly and introducing herself to all of the new people in the room. a�?Out of nowhere I spotted Carl perched on my frienda��s bed watching a gospel DVD,a�? she recalls. a�?Even though there were several people in the living room my focus immediately turned to him, so I made my way towards him to say hello.a�?
a�?With my heart racing and palms sweating, I knew it wasna��t just the heat getting to me,a�? Makho recalls. They wound up hanging out all night, and when Carl returned to Dallas they promised to keep in touch. a�?We became fast friends and over time our friendship blossomed into a wonderful romance,a�? she said.
The couple enjoys going out on date nights in New York City and often go out dancing or to try a new restaurant or museums or stay in bingeing on series through Netflix. Carl proposed to Makho during one of those dates in 2014.
