Boyfriend steals ARVs

Court Reporter
A HARARE woman is accusing her former boyfriend of deliberately infecting her with HIV. Chipo Kamuriwo dragged Tedius Manakira to the Civil Courts last Friday seeking a protection order.

She alleges that after infecting her with HIV, Manakira was now in the habit of stealing her Anti-Retroviral drugs and food.

“He infected me with HIV and now he is coming to my house stealing my ARVs and food,” Kamuriwo said.

Narrating her ordeal to magistrate Mr Trevor Nyatsanza, Kamuriwo said Manakira would break her doors and windows to gain entry into the house.

“I am now living in fear because he assaults and insults me,” she said as she pleaded with Mr Nyatsanza to grant her application saying she had endured a lot of suffering at the hands of Manakira.

Mr Nyatsanza granted the order, barring Manakira from physically or verbally abusing Kamuriwo.

He also ordered Manakira to keep peace towards Kamuriwo at all times.
