HARARE’S CBD will be dry after an emergency shutdown of the Warren Control Pump Station, the City of Harare has said.
Many parts of the capital will also experience disruptions in water supplies.
Although the Warren Control Pump Station delivers water to the northern parts of Harare, the shutdown will also affect most parts of the capital with the exception of the suburbs on the western part of the city.
Acting Town Clerk Phakamile Mabhena Moyo said there will be maintenance work from today until tomorrow.
“The city wishes to inform the public that due to a serious burst at Warren Control Pump Station, there will be maintenance work from the 5th to the 6th of December,” he said.
“As a result, the following areas will not access water for the duration of the works: the CBD area, the Northern Suburbs, the Industrial areas, and the Eastern suburbs including Mabvuku and Tafara.”
