THE National Association of Schools Heads Stella Tea Under-17 netball finals will explode at Bradley Institute in Madziva tomorrow with defending champions, Sikhulile High, favourites to win a second title in a row.

The champions, who represent Bulawayo Province, won the prestigious tournament at last year’s finals at Sobukhazi High School in the City of Kings. Seasoned campaigners Pamushana High were dethroned after having won the title for four straight years.

Mpopoma (Bulawayo), Munene (Midlands), Honde (Manicaland), Mvurwi (Mashonaland Central), Mhangura (Mashonaland West), Gumbonzvanda (Mashonaland East), Lusulu (Matabeleland North) and Mawabeni (Matabeleland South) are some of the schools that will take part in the tournament.

Last year’s champions Sikhulile pocketed $4 400 with runners-up Pamushana taking home $3 200. Girls High School of Harare, who came third after beating Mvurwi 12-8 in the third-and-fourth place play-offs, went home $2 000 richer.

Mvurwi took home $1 400.
