BREAKING: NACZ slashes registration fees

Tafadzwa Zimoyo, Zimpapers Entertainment Editor

The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) has announced an immediate reduction in registration fees for artists and creative organisations, effective January 30, 2026, in a move aimed at improving the ease of doing business in the Cultural and Creative Industries.

The decision follows a directive from the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Rushwaya, instructing government agencies to review licences, permits and levies. NACZ said the revised fee structure will lower barriers to formalisation, encourage compliance and allow artists to invest more in production and innovation.

The Council has urged all artists and creative organisations to take advantage of the new fees.

NACZ has reduced the clearance fee for local shows from US$100 to US$50 per month.
