PREPARATIONS for The Sunday Mail Bride of the Year show, which will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on the 28th of this month, are now at an advanced stage.
This glamorous show will see the crowning of the Bride of the Year as well as the Cake of the Year and a lucky winner will walk away with a free wedding voucher.
The spectacle is set to be a thrilling affair, with the organisers still putting together a star-studded line-up of performing artistes, among them Baba naMai Charamba, Tocky Vibes, Mudiwa, Prudence Katomeni and Alexio Kawara.
All these artistes are tried and tested on the big stage and are billed to turn this show into a massive celebratory party.
During this event, the crowd is also going to be treated to a Bridal Fashion Show which will be showcasing bridal garments from various designers.
But as fans warm up for the Bridal show, they will be treated to The Sunday Mail Bridal Expo to be held at the Rainbow Towers Gardens on the 27th of March.
The Bridal Expo is a platform for various stakeholders in the bridal business to exhibit their products and services. Zimpapers business manager Charity Gwata-Chirume said besides honouring the winning brides, the show was also meant to encourage other partners to consider having their own wedding.
“The fashion show will be an eye opener to prospective brides who are yet to tie the knot and will be showcasing current trends in bridal wear,” said Gwata-Chirume.
“With The Sunday Mail being the biggest family newspaper in the country, our objective is to promote family values, which is why we do these events.”
She went on to say that this year’s event would be bigger and better as evidenced by the line-up of performing artistes. She also said this year’s Bridal Expo will be exciting and productive.
“We are going to set up a section where counselling sessions will be held, another section where people will be taught how to bake wedding cakes as well as another one where people will be taught wedding decor.”
“Exhibitors are also going to win prizes for having outstanding stands and various competitions will see some of the people in attendance winning prizes as well,” said Gwata-Chirume.
The Sunday Mail Bride of the Year has been running since the 70s and is the biggest bridal show in the country.
