Brigadier-General Rungani’s body arrives in Bikita

The body of national hero, Brigadier-General (Retired) Victor Rungani, has arrived at his rural homestead in Duma on the southern fringes of Nyika Growth Point in Bikita, Masvingo.

The body, which came aboard an Air Force of Zimbabwe helicopter, was welcomed at Gwindingwi High School grounds this morning by scores of mourners, including the Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Ezra Chadzamira, senior Government and ruling party officials.

The Masvingo provincial leadership and the Bikita community will get a chance to pay their last respects before the body is flown back to Harare this afternoon, where it will lie in state ahead of burial at the National Heroes Acre tomorrow.
