HIGHLANDERS lost their first match, under their new coach Baltemar Brito, losing 1-2 to relegation-threatened WhaWha at Ascot on Saturday.
Albert Matewu scored a brace for the hosts, who have now beaten Chicken Inn and Ngezi Platinum, and appear to have turned themselves into giant-killers.
Bosso got their consolation from Lynoth Chikuhwa.
The match ended with both teams reduced to 10 men.
Highlanders striker, Stanley Ngala, was shown a straight red card, 11 minutes before the break, for a crude challenge on a Whawha defender.
Whawha’s Matewu was also sent off.
It was the first defeat for Bosso coach Baltemar Brito.
“This was not an easy game, we conceded two goals due to individual mistakes but we must learn from that.
“We lost and we can’t find any excuse.
“We need more personality and to win home and away matches.
“Our main goal is winning games and preparing for next season,” he said.
Highlanders squandered an opportunity to salvage a draw when Ariel Sibanda penalty was saved by Allen Masaya.
