TWO brothers were hauled to court yesterday for allegedly turning their late parents’ house into a brothel and recruiting students from a local college into prostitutes.Rassel Chirasha (23) and his brother Atheni (21) were facing charges of running a brothel at their home, number 117 Harare Drive in Hatfield.

The siblings denied the allegations in court and were acquitted due to lack of evidence. The complainants in the matter were two girls aged 16 and 17 years.

The girls reportedly ran away from their parents’ homes for close to two months, engaging in sex work for survival at the brothel.
The Chirasha brothers allegedly paid the girls for their services.

It was alleged that on July 26, one of the girls who is a Form 3 pupil was taken by her friend identified as Tonderai to the house.
It was established that the girl met and knew Tonderai from Ximex Mall.

Allegations are that Tonderai told the girl that the house belonged to his family, he left her there and never returned. The girl was later joined by the second complainant and three more girls.

The court heard the girls stayed at the house from July 26 to September 2. During their stay the Chirasha brothers would bring several men who paid to have sexual intercourse with the girls.

The girls reportedly agreed to be exploited for money because they wanted food. It is alleged that the girls slept with about 20 men each.
Some of the clients would come from town. The matter came to light when one of the girls fell ill.
